Lecture Schedule Join The Charleston Silver Lady for an exclusive 2 or 3 day program filled with the joy of learning. Meet with The Charleston Silver Lady and other attendees from all over the country to learn about silver, jewelry, antiques and the history of the South; Charleston in particular. Day classes begin at 9:00 am and continue all day with a break for lunch; classes end each day between 3:00-4:00. Classes are held in Charleston's premier locations with exquisite luncheons prepared by the areas top chef's. Your program can also include a guided shopping and learning tour of King Street with Dawn. This will allow you to implement what you have learned as well as purchase items with confidence. Dawn will assist you in locating reputable shops with fine merchandise. As we shop you will meet many experts in the area and learn valuable insights into the world of antiques.

Each lecture will include a "hand's on" format with hundreds of rare pieces to examine and learn from. Each piece is a link to a time period and a culture that produced it- most pieces are museum quality; many being made by Dawn's Southern ancestor's. This unique opportunity to hold a piece of history in your hand should not be missed. Classes are perfect for the beginner as well as the expert. These classes are offered through out the year and require a 2-month reservation. We try to keep the classes small- less than 15 people as each person is encouraged to ask as many questions as they like and learn at their pace.

Among the things you will learn are: *how to tell a fraud or fake from the real thing *how to know the age of a piece *what marks mean and what they do not not *how to read the quality of a piece *how much to pay for an object and why Historic Dining is a separate course that you may wish to add to your stay here. This class involves the actual use and implementation of the pieces you have studied the days before. This class is held at one of three premiere locations with an exclusive menu provided only to The Charleston Silver Lady. This is available 12 times per year and fills up quickly. Costs: Each weekend as described above begins on Friday and ends on Sunday morning with a re-cap over breakfast. Cost of the program will include: lunch on Friday(deluxe luncheon served in the room as to avoid interruptions)lunch on Saturday ( private luncheon at one of the area's finest restaurants) custom written text by The Charleston Silver Lady Books on subjects covered are also available for sale.
